9/24/2010 9:19:34 AM In connection with EU commissioner Nellie Kroes visit at the AAL- Forum in Odense the 15.th – 17.th of September 2010 to see welfare technology, she also visited the care home, Ryttergården in Odense Kommune (Odense municipality).
Medisat got the opportunity to show to the EU commissioner, how the patient briefcase works for both COPD and rehabilitation of elderly citizens. She talked with a citizen who has used the patient briefcase. He told about his experiences with this technology and she asked him questions through the Patient briefcase.
Medisat has just finished a project with Odense Kommune regarding rehabilitation with the Patient Briefcase. The preliminary evaluations shows that rehabilitation only takes 20 – 25 minutes with the Patient Briefcase, and therefore the Patient Briefcase has a manpower saving potential of 2/3 of the normal time.
The result of this is that you can rehabilitate about three elderly citizens in the same time it normally takes for just one. It is also shown that the citizens, who are rehabilitated with the Patient Briefcase, has a 10 % heightened quality of life compared to the citizens who was rehabilitated the usual way.
