New orders in Norway
6/10/2010 2:46:03 PM Medisat A/S has made an agreement with Stavanger University Hospital in Norway for the delivery of patient Briefcase with COPD (patients with smoker's lungs).
In Norway, they have started a project called Dalane DMS which is headed by project manager Johannes Bergsåker-Aspøy. The project has so far been granted DKK 5 million.
Patients' Briefcase for COPD allows the hospital to provide treatment and control of their COPD patients, while the patient is staying in their own homes. This saves hospital beds, while the patient avoids prolonged hospitalization and may reside in their comfortable and familiar surroundings.
Patients' Briefcase are simple and easy for the patient to use and it will bee Stavanger University Hospital itself, which will be responsible for installing the patient Briefcase in the patient's home.
When the patient Briefcase is installed in the home, the health professional personnel from Stavanger University Hospital can, by video links, guide and communicate with patients via both video screen and microphone.
The agreement between Medisat A/S and Stavanger University Hospital is running from May 1st. 2010 and one year forward.
The management of Stavanger University Hospital expects the project to contribute to a better utilization of resources. Including an economic benefit, since this group of patients will require fewer and shorter hospitalizations.
Medisat A/S is looking forward to the exciting task it will be, to deliver patient Briefcase to a University Hospital in Norway. It is with very high expectations that Medisat A/S has made this agreement with Johannes Bergsåker-Aspøy from Stavanger University Hospital in Norway.
Medisat A/S has also developed a patient Briefcase for heart patients and for rehabilitation.
